I’ve done festival season tips in the past. I’ve been to so many different festivals over the years, I always look for good tips from others and love sharing my own. Let me know if you have any!

1. Hydrate! It’s easy to forget this when you’re dancing the night away, but with the constant sweating and 100 degree weather, you don’t wan to pass out from dehydration. Get a portable refillable water bottle and carry it with you and fill up at the water stations.
2. Eat! It’s easy to get distracted and forget to eat with so much going on around you. But you need energy to dance the night away. Plus, have you seen the food lineup?
3. Sun Protection! Don’t forget the sunscreen. The Indio sun is no joke. Hats can also be a stylish and good idea to provide shade.
4. Function Outfit! Yes, it’s all about the outfit, so take lots of photos! But also, be smart about what you wear. Rompers are cute, but not the best idea when you have to pee in a porta-potty. Tie a light flannel or jacket around your waist or bag for the chilly night time. Choose comfy shoes that you can stomp around in.
5. Meeting Spots! If you’re rolling in a big group, chances are you’re going to split up to see different bands, get food or explore. Pick a landmark to meet at at designated times. Cell service is always spotty when it coming to texting at big events like this.
6. Have Fun! Everyone’s there to have fun! Keep an open mind and go check out a new band or even some art or a new tent you never thought you’d see.

Spring Must Have: Off the Shoulder Tops

It’s almost Spring! But it almost feels like summer here in Southern California, but I’m not complaining! I love the sunshine. With warmer weather, comes lighter clothes and less bundling up. Off the shoulder and cold shoulder tops have not died down at all and are a must have for this spring! I love the romantic look of the off the shoulder top and I’ve linked this top I’m wearing (under $25!) and other tops I’m loving that are all under $100.

Get Baked in OC | Mr. Holmes Bakehouse

Mr. Holmes Bakehouse has finally landed in Orange County! Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is originally from San Francisco, and I did get to visit their shop the last time I was there. I fell in love with the aesthetic and their stuffed donuts. They’re known for the cruffin (a cross between a croissant and muffin) that I still have not been able to try. They make a limited amount each day, and they run out fast! Hopefully with this location being closer to where I live, I’ll finally be able to try one!

I was excited to be invited to their OC location’s media preview event. The service counter is located inside of the Union Market in Tustin at The District. They have the same cool all-white tile walls and on point branding. Around the corner, they had in neon “KALE SUCKS“.  The other locations in SF, LA and Seoul all have signs that read “I Got Baked In San Francisco” or the respective city, so I was really hoping to see a “I Got Baked in Orange County”. We’ll see if they end up changing out the sign.

The OC location’s Grand Opening is Saturday, 2/25, 8AM-Sell Out. They are also having an exclusive collab Matcha Donut with Milk Box Bar available Saturday Grand Opening Day only. The bakehouse is located inside of Union Market, 2493 Park Ave, Tustin, CA 9278.

A Galentine’s Day Celebration with Style Collective Sisters

PC: @goirishphotog
I got to meet up my Style Collective Sisters this weekend for a Galentine’s Day celebration! Our festive Valentine’s celebration was held at Shade Hotel, Redondo Beach. Located in the beautiful Redondo Beach marina, there’s no more perfect venue to toast with my Style Collective sisters in high style. Set along the waterfront, this brand new property captures the essence of the South bay vibe. Relaxed and family friendly, this is one hotel that has perfected the customer service experience. Greeting us with a warm welcome and a sparkling champagne toast, the staff at The Shade embodies the essence of hospitality.  Sea Level, offers both waterfront dining or a casual bar with views of the marina. Light, bright and cozy, Sea Level bar is a great place for a casual evening.

In true fashion blogger style, SC Sisters were decked out in various shades of red, pink and white and on a mission to celebrate Galentine’s Day with a splash. The Shade made us feel so welcome and pampered us with a delicious dining experience overlooking the scenic waterfront. The Sea Level Restaurant is filled with comfy sofas and fire pits and it wasn’t long before the sofas were overflowing with colorful fashion bloggers excitedly chattering away. Serving up the crispiest, mouth watering pizza loaded with carmelized onions and the tastiest goat cheese, the women were definitely enjoying the treats along with the atmosphere. Alongside, our waiters brought out the freshest beet salad with arugula pesto and toasted pistachios to top it off. The piece de resistance was a tasty citrus cured hamachi with one of the most beautiful presentations in town. We laughed and we toasted as we began forming new connections, sharing our fashion blogging and life journeys together.

We laughed and we toasted as we began forming new connections, sharing our fashion blogging and life journeys together. I was so happy to be able to connect with these amazing ladies. Some of which, I’ve only “met” online previously. Lots of photos, snapchats, boomerangs and videos for instastories were taken of course. Can we talk about these amazing balloons? Balloon Celebrations delivered an enormous truckload of balloons. As balloons always lift the spirits, we all worked together to set up all the massive balloon decorations. Balloon Celebrations went out of their way to ensure the event was a success by setting a lively and fun vibe. We had letters that spelled out “Style Collective” and “XOXO” which made for the perfect photo op! Being surrounded by all these beautiful gold balloons was a dream come true! There was also an amazing massive heart balloon sculpture!

It wouldn’t be a fashion blogging event without raffle prizes and goodie bags filled with treasures. Jessica @petitestylescript, and the creator of, made sure we were taken care of with lots of sponsored treasures. She is a big fan of Dermalogica and won us all over with gifts of their daily superfoliant. I can’t wait to try this stuff! Core Water provided the natural refreshments with their classic water as well as several fruit flavored varieties. Core is known for it’s high quality reverse osmosis process which helps to balance the alkalinity in our bodies. The precious edible centerpieces were handmade for us by a fabulous company called, Lette Macarons. These special displays were made of the lightest and tastiest macaroons. In the most vivid colors representative of the holiday, they definitely set the tone for a festive afternoon. Each tasty creation is hand made with tender loving care.  Rounding out the gift bags was a gift from Bloomingdale’s and the Kiehl’s counter. Fond of natural products, Kiehl’s has been a leader in the field with products that help you to look and feel beautiful in the most natural way possible.

How to Dress up Sweater Weather Basics

Sweater weather is the best. I love to wear warm cozy knits and having an excuse to cuddle up with blankets. When it’s cool out, one of my go-to outfits consists of basics like denim and a cozy knit sweater. I love this off-the-shoulder sweater with the fold-over detail. I’m wearing some of my favorite jeans, which surprisingly are from Old Navy! I have found that their rockstar denim line fits like a dream and is super affordable. I may or may not have bought 3 pairs for myself. This sweater weather basic outfit can easily be dressed up with some fun shoes and unique accessories.

Affordable At-Home Teeth Whitening | Smile Brilliant Review

With blogging and constantly taking photos, I’ve always been a bit insecure about my teeth. After finally straightening my teeth with braces a few years ago, my next thing to tackle was whitening my teeth. I truly believe that your smile is the best accessory. I’ve always want to try an at home whitening system for my smile, so when Smile Brilliant * reached out to me for a review, I was excited to try it! I love drinking coffee and I know that most of the things I eat and drink definitely contribute to stains on my teeth. I’ve tried white stripes previously, but I never followed through with them because I hated the way they felt on my teeth. They would get all slimy and slide around so gave them away!

I love the way that everything was packaged in the whitening kit. Everything had its place and nothing shifted around. The whole box and packaging is just nice and steps were easy to follow. I appreciated that the instructions were right there in front of your face, and easy to follow.

What’s included in the teeth whitening kit:
    • 3 sets of catalyst paste and base paste (for making impressions)
    • 2 blue impression trays
    • Whitening syringes and desensitizing syringes (mine came with 3 of each, but you can choose your quantity depending on your needs)
    • A case for your teeth trays
    • Mailing Envelope with pre-paid label
    My before….

    Step 1: Making the Impressions

1 container of catalyst paste and 1 container base paste is used to create each side of your teeth impressions – 1 set for top and 1 set for bottom. They include an extra set just in case you mess up… which I did of course, LOL.
I followed the instructions that came with the whitening kit, which involved mixing the catalyst with the base to make a uniform paste, which is what you push your teeth into on the tray. My mouth is a bit small, so I did have a bit of difficulty with getting the trays in quickly and then centering the tray with the teeth. My tip is to practice a few times without the paste to get the positioning and motion right.

    My completed impressions

I was a bit unsure about one of my impressions, so I contacted Smile Brilliant. I took a photo and sent it to them to make sure they looked good before sending in my trays. I was all good, but they can also provide additional base and catalyst paste if needed, in case you mess up more than once. Once the impressions look good, I mailed them off in the envelope provided with the mailing label. Their lab takes about 3-5 days to create the trays once they receive the impressions.

    Step 2: Whitening

Here comes the fun part… maybe, depending on how you feel about whitening your teeth haha. There’s two steps involved when whitening. First, the actual whitening part, and second, the desensitizing part. I found that you really have to be diligent if you want to see great results. The trays and the gels are easy to use and apply to the trays. Each of the syringes has enough for 3-4 applications, so they include a stopper to put back on to save for future uses.
The minimum time for whitening is 45 minutes, and desensitizing is 15 minutes after whitening. They also recommend whitening every day. I found it hard for me to get to whitening every day because of my schedule. I tried to do it before going to bed, but sometimes I wouldn’t have enough time to be able to commit at least an hour to the process. But, when I remembered to do it, I would put the trays in and do a face mask and relax or do some work. It was all about making time to get the process started before it was too late in the night.

Following directions, I put the whitening solution on the trays, and then applied the trays to my teeth. A few times, I put too much of the solution and the overflow would get on to my gums. I tried cleaning up the excess as much as I could, but sometimes would feel the gel foaming up and my gums would then be a bit tender after. This also discouraged me from being consistent with my whitening since the gel would sometimes feel like they were burning my gums. I think with practice, I was able to control how much of the gel I was applying so that it wouldn’t bother my gums as much.
And here are my results of before and after the whitening!
    • Affordable whitening solution vs. professional whitening services
    • Easy to follow instructions
    • Great customer service, ready to answer questions
    • Doesn’t make teeth very sensitive after process
    • Customized solution with personalized trays and desired results
    • Can make gums sensitive
Overall, I did see good results, but I’m sure that my results would have been even better if I was able to whiten every day consistently. I would recommend this kit to someone who’s interested in trying to whiten at home. This article may help those who are considering this solution: 7 things to know before buying teeth whitening. There is also this helpful video with how another customer whitens her teeth.
